Position: Assistant Engineer (Entry-Level)

Job Description
CJS Conveyance is seeking an Entry-Level Assistant Engineer to join our team in Downtown Cary, NC. As an Assistant Engineer, you will have the chance to work alongside our senior engineering staff and contribute to critical water and wastewater conveyance projects throughout the Triangle and the state of North Carolina. Typical projects include large diameter gravity sewer, water transmission mains, urban water and sewer replacements, elevated storage tanks, and pumping stations.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior engineers on water and wastewater conveyance projects
- Assist in preliminary engineering evaluations and technical report preparation
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to internal tasks
- Assist with design document development, engineering analyses, and regulatory permit applications
- Contribute to bid phase services and construction administration
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited university
- 0-4 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering and/or land development engineering
- On track for (registered EI) or already holding a registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina (or ability to obtain).
- Eagerness to learn and take on responsibilities
- Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred) and GIS is a plus
- Valid driver’s license
