Annual Water Main Replacements Program

Each year, the Town of Cary identifies locations throughout the well-established areas of  town where water mains have exceeded their useful life and need to be replaced.. CJS has served as the Town’s on-call consultant for these replacements since 2020, having been selected/renewed for five separate contracts. The project areas are located in various neighborhood settings, involve railroad and NCDOT encroachments, and require overlapping project coordination efforts. The project tasks have entailed full right-of-way surveys, Level A and B SUE, design plan production, permitting, as well as bid and construction phase services. To date, the replacements have included approximately 38,000 LF of 4- to 24-inch asbestos concrete, galvanized/PVC, and CIP pipe replacements and extensions.
