Project Overview
A large diameter sewer project including preliminary engineering evaluations, environmental investigations, easement survey and mapping, design, bidding, and construction phase services for the construction of approximately 26,000 LF of 84-inch and 96-inch sewer interceptor along the east side of the Neuse River. The project included design of the City’s largest single gravity sewer, abandonment of two City sewer lift stations, two crossings of the Neuse River, and trenchless crossings of NCDOT roadways.
This project was performed in partnership with Hazen and Sawyer, who designed a ‘drop vortex system’ as part of the project. This system, the first of its kind for Raleigh Water, is used to accommodate a 35-foot drop, which helps with turbulence and reduces odor.
